Those of you owning an iPhone–‘nuf said–the voice recorder records really, really well. But if you don’t have an iPhone and want to be able to record lessons with good quality, I have three devices to recommend to you. Most recently, my student, Viridiana, and her husband did extensive research to find the Sony PCM-M10, with which she has been very happy. Here’s a link: note that this recorder costs around $240:

For around $99 at this writing you could get the Zoom ZH1 Handy Portable Digital Recorder–which several of my students use:

Also, I have students who have been very happy with the ZOOM Handy Recorder H2n device at around $180 by itself or $198 bundled with a stand, ear buds, and a lot of other helpful stuff.
